Securent Customers The First American Corporation, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Selected to Speak at Burton Group Catalyst Conference
Securent Also Participating in XACML OASIS Interoperability Demonstration, Hosting a Conference Suite at Catalyst Conference in San Francisco Next Week
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 19, 2007 – Securent, Inc., the award-winning leader in the Entitlement Management market, today announced that two customers of its Entitlement Management Solution (EMS) have been selected to present at Burton Group Catalyst Conference North America 2007, to be held June 25 – 29 in San Francisco.
Now in its 14th year, Catalyst is an industry-shaping event that explores cutting-edge ideas, current challenges, and emerging technologies shaping today’s and tomorrow’s enterprise. Catalyst, being held at the Hilton San Francisco this year, is renowned for its attendee-driven agenda, high-profile speakers, in-depth content and fiercely independent point of view.
During the conference, Timothy C. Moore, senior architect in the Enterprise Technology Group of Securent customer The First American Corporation, will present “Architecting and Implementing an Enterprise-wide Entitlement Infrastructure – From Design to Deployment.” This presentation will be held on June 28 at 9 am PDT in the Grand Ballroom B of the San Francisco Hilton.
Later that day, Jason Rogers, consulting technical team lead at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Securent’s second customer on the conference program, will present “Turning the SOA Dream into Reality with XACML-based Entitlement Management Security,” on June 28 at 4:45 pm PDT in the Grand Ballroom B of the San Francisco Hilton.
In the evening of June 28, Securent will participate in an interoperability demonstration of the eXtensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML) 2.0 standard with other member companies of OASIS (the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards). The XACML standard is seen as a key driver for Entitlement Management. Optimized for large-scale, federated environments, XACML specifies the syntax and processing rules for authorization.
“Entitlement Management has emerged as a growing need for enterprises – Burton Group identified it as one of the top IT priorities for 2007 in our VantagePoint report – and it will be covered extensively at Catalyst this year,” said Gerry Gebel, Burton Group VP and Service Director. “XACML is an important standard for use in entitlement management solutions and we’ve witnessed growing interest in this industry standard. As with any key standard, multi-vendor interoperability is critical to its continued adoption, and we are proud to host the first-ever interoperability demonstration for XACML. Burton Group thanks all the interop participants for their hard work in making this demonstration event possible.”
Also during the evening of June 28, Securent will host a hospitality suite from 6 pm – 9:30 pm PDT in the Franciscan Ballroom A of the San Francisco Hilton. There, Securent executives and customers will be on hand to demonstrate Securent’s new Entitlement Management Solution v3.0, and discuss the business drivers and rapidly growing customer demand for Entitlement Management. Vendor Hospitality Suites are one of many highlights at the Catalyst Conference, giving vendors the opportunity to showcase their products and services for attendees and to expand on conference topics.
Securent EMS enables organizations to secure sensitive applications and data with ease and precision. For the first time, organizations can benefit from a proven XACML standard-based solution to create, enforce, review, and audit fine-grained access policies across heterogeneous application and IT environments distributed throughout the enterprise, all with centralized management and visibility. Securent provides a more scalable and cost-effective alternative to custom coding of fine-grained access controls into applications. Loosely coupling entitlements with application services, Securent EMS is also a key infrastructure service in an effective SOA deployment. The results, as seen in Fortune 1000 deployments, include improved security and compliance with regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Basel Capital Accord (Basel II), and the National Association of Securities Dealers Rule 2711 (NASD 2711).
